Gollum

This strange ghoul was once a hobbit named Smeagol. In 2463 Gollum stole the
One Ring from his cousin who found it at the bottom of the Anduin River. The power of
the Ring lengthened Gollums life but twisted him into a hideous form. He hated light and
used the power of the ring to steal from, and murder his people. Gollum sought shelter in
black caves in the Misty Mountains where he lived for 5 centuries. In 2941 Bilbo Baggins
stumbled upon him and took the One Ring from him. Hate filled Gollum and in 3019
Gollum hunted down Frodo the new ring-bearer. He could not over come Frodo, who
seemingly tamed him. However Gollum finally attacked Frodo at the edge of the crack of
Mt. Doom, where he won the ring back by biting off Frodo’s finger, but in the moment of
victory he fell backwards in to the fiery pool destroying him and the Ring.
