The Ring! Is it not a strange fate that we should
suffer so much fear and doubt for so small a
thing? So small a thing! And I have seen it only
for an instant in the house of Elrond.
Could I not have sight of it again?

Boromir

Dunedain lord, and eldest son of Denethor II ruling steward of Gondor. Born in 2978 of the Third Age. In 3018 he defended Osgiliath against Sauron’s forces. He had a prophetic dream, and made his way to Rivendell to seek council. There he joined the Fellowship of the Ring and set out on the mission to destroy the ring. His sword was very useful in the mines of Moria when the Fellowship was attacked by orcs.  However he tried to take the Ring from Frodo near Raurus Falls, but Frodo disappeared. He realized what a grave mistake he made and died defending the Hobbits Merry and Pippin from a Orc attack. He was given a proper Gondor funeral by Aragorn as he was sent over the falls in a boat.
